We culturally have a strong belief in corporate philanthropy and wish to continue and potentially build on the years of support that we have provided for a wide variety of recipients. We aspire to a corporate model within our business and believe that as we grow we should also be in a position to continue to assist worthy causes.
We will encourage our staff to remain fit and healthy by supporting them in participating in sporting/charity events in and around Brisbane. This involves subsidising event registration fees & supplying free sports t-shirts. Our overall aim is to not only raise money for some great causes but to promote and encourage our employees to live active, healthy lifestyles.
This year our major focus is to support the Australian Red Cross by allowing our employees to give blood at local Donation Centres during work time. Each of these donations will help save up to 3 lives and contribute towards the 26,000 donations Australia needs each week. As an organisation committed to the health and well being of our customers and staff we believe this is an extremely worthy cause.
Through our website we will provide progress updates on the support we will be providing to charities and events. For further information on up and coming events that you could take part in, visit the following useful websites www.brisbanecitylife.com.au, www.betterhealth.vic.gov.au .
Charity Monies Raised
Over the past few years we have raised over $30,000 by supporting events such as Red Nose Day, Jeans for Genes Day, Daffodil Day and Breast Cancer Awareness Month.
In addition to this, on the 3rd December 2011 we held a charity raffle at our staff Christmas Party and with generous donations from our employees, who attended the event, raised a further $1095. This was divided between 3 charities chosen by Jadin staff members. These were The Bauble Kids Christmas Appeal for the Royal Children's Hospital, GIVIT (a 'targeted giving' service that ensures those who need assistance, get exactly what they need, when they need it most) and Ipswich Hospital Physiotherapy Unit.
In 2012 we will continue to look for opportunities to raise money and health awareness among our staff and customers.
In 2013 we met Rose, a cancer survivor. Rose participated in Queensland's FIRST 60km End Women's Cancer Weekend in October. Between the 1350 walkers who participated they were able to raise 3.5 million dollars. Jadin Chemist Group proudly contributed to this amount by donating $2,000. Rose will participate in more events in 2014 to continue raising money for this amazing cause and our General Manager is hoping to be right there beside her for some of them.
Also in 2014, one of our employee's daughter has been lucky enough to make it into the Queensland Spirit Team which will tour Honolulu, Hawaii, competing in the Aloha International Spirit Championships this April. Our employee has been fundraising most weekends with a sausage sizzle outside local retailers to raise the money to participate in the championships. Jadin Chemist Group has donated $1,500 towards the flights so she can chaperone her daughter on this tour. We would like to wish her daughter all the very best and look forward to hearing how her and her team got on.
